At BrilliantRead Media, we always strive to bring meaningful and powerful stories from India and around the world to empower and motivate our growing community. As part of this endeavour, we invited Neha Pasricha Batra for an exclusive interview with us. Neha is a Certified Health Coach, Nutritionist and an Influencer. Let’s learn more about her background, journey and her advice for our community!
Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Neha:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
My journey into nutrition began long before I studied it formally. As a professional chef and baker for over a decade, food was always my language. Even then, fitness and wellness quietly shaped the way I created recipes.
I found myself choosing better ingredients, reworking desserts, and constantly trying to strike that delicate balance between flavour and nourishment.
Over time, I became known as the “healthy dessert chef” — always experimenting, always trying to create something guilt-free yet delicious. That passion naturally pulled me deeper into understanding what food truly does to the body. So I took the leap, studied nutrition, and merged both worlds.
Today, my work is a blend of my culinary roots and my love for wellness. I help people eat better without giving up flavour, build realistic habits, and feel empowered through food.
How did you discover your passion?
My passion grew from the overlap of my two worlds — culinary and fitness. As a chef and baker, I loved creating beautiful food, but I was equally drawn to understanding how that food impacts the body.
The more I experimented with healthier recipes and deepened my study of nutrition, the more I realised this is where my heart truly lies — helping people eat better, feel better, and enjoy food without restrictions.
Despite the challenges, what keeps you going when things get tough?
Not every day is easy. But what keeps me going is knowing that someone out there is inspired by my consistency.
My clients, my community, and even my own personal growth — they all remind me to show up, even on the hard days.
What are the three most important lessons you have learned in your life?
Three important lessons I’ve learned:
1) Discipline beats motivation. As a chef, baker, and now nutritionist, I’ve realised that consistency is what creates results — not waiting to ‘feel’ ready.
2) Food is more than calories, it’s connection, healing, and self-respect. I’ve learned that when you nourish your body well, every other part of your life improves.
3) Growth requires discomfort. Every big shift in my life — switching careers, studying nutrition, building my practice — came from stepping out of my comfort zone. Challenges are not roadblocks; they’re instructions to level up.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
> I think success comes from showing up — even on the days you don’t feel like it.
> Learning continuously, without ego or fear.
> Staying connected to the people you serve — because real success is measured by impact.
What advice would you give students and young professionals who want to have a successful career?
My advice to students and young professionals would be:
1) Build skills before you chase titles. The strongest careers are built on competence, not job descriptions.
2) Be consistent even when no one is watching. Success is shaped by the habits you build in silence — not the moments you showcase online.
3) Stay curious and keep learning. Industries evolve, trends change, but a mindset that’s willing to grow will always stay relevant.
Last but not least, what about your journey makes it satisfying/exciting?
What makes this journey so satisfying is watching people transform — not just physically, but mentally.
Knowing that the skills I built as a chef, the discipline I learned through fitness, and the science I studied in nutrition all come together to help someone feel healthier and more confident… that’s incredibly fulfilling.
Every time a client tells me they feel lighter, stronger, or more in control, it reminds me why every bit of hard work is worth it.
